As Civiltec’s high-speed cantilever design developed, safety became a critical priority. The system needed to be safe, especially given its benchmark opening and closing speed.
In 1999, Civiltec undertook an industry-first risk assessment process for its security gate system. This activity involved a mining safety consulting firm, gate product clients, security professionals and Civiltec staff.
The process led to the development of a layered safety system designed to detect vehicles early while also protecting people. Sophisticated PLC control programming supported a comprehensive proactive safety-based system.
The lessons learned through this process helped shape Civiltec’s proactive safety approach across all Civiltec gate systems.
One of Civiltec’s increasingly unique features is that it is one of the few original equipment manufacturers in the sector.
The people who build Civiltec gates also install and service Civiltec gates. This gives Civiltec stronger control over the design, sale, build, installation and servicing of its gate systems.
Rather than relying heavily on subcontractors, Civiltec uses its own vastly experienced staff to support quality control, project management and long-term client outcomes.
